Welcome to Alan Edits.
I am an editor and writer. My work appears in the public domain, at the crossroads of science, medicine, macroeconomics, and public policy. I have written, revised, formatted, copyedited, or proofread more than 5,000 documents of all sorts: briefing papers, training materials, conference proceedings, books, human interest articles, success stories, proposals, brochures, Web pages . . . you name it.
Agronomy, endocrinology, hematology, infectious diseases, neurology, oncology, orphan diseases, pharmacology, physiology, public health, macroeconomics, natural resources, nonprofit management, international development, theology, poverty, social justice, and civic engagement are subjects that have all crossed my desk.
My clients include U.S. Government agencies and contractors, private industry, independent and public research foundations, and international organizations.
I am 1 of only 1,200 individuals in the world to have earned the title ELS, or Editor in the Life Sciences, awarded by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences. Individuals who hold the ELS honorific have demonstrated excellence in manuscript editing, understand the ethical principles of medical and scientific publishing; and are familiar with the terminology, procedures, and practices of most sciences.
Drop me a line if you’d like a time and cost estimate for editing, writing, revising, or formatting a science document. Thanks for visiting.
